Describe the visible behaviour.
Does the display remain on, does a programme start, or does the appliance stop during use? Record the chosen function and any code. Do not run it empty, repeat an unsafe programme or assume that a working light means the heating system is safe.
Door damage, sparks or burning
Stop using a microwave with door damage, sparking, smoke or a burning smell. Keep it closed and do not remove covers or attempt internal checks. Internal microwave components can remain hazardous after the appliance has been disconnected.
Built in or on a worktop?
Give the fitting and visible surround, including any combined oven function. Do not remove trim, pull out a built-in appliance or bring equipment to an address without an agreed arrangement.
What to send
Use a safely readable label or existing paperwork for the model and serial details. Add the symptom, full postcode and access restrictions. Parts, job acceptance and costs are checked individually.
